As the colour of 2017 according to the experts at Pantone, green is set to make a splash on the wedding circuit this year. While flowers still remain a classic, greenery is the new decor craze thanks to its minimalist vibes and rustic appearance. Think leafy arrangements and table settings and foliage-covered arches. Oh and did we mention that it's easier on the pockets too?

Metallic colours continue their reign this year, with gold particularly staking a claim as an accent shade. Glimmering cakes or placeholders are great for subtler takes while in-your-face glitter linens and chic tableware make a bold statement.

Bold and bright

Colour makes a comeback this year. Bolder brides are now opting for vibrant colours to shake up a neutral palette. Stick with clean colours as a base, then throw in splashes of bright shades for drama.

Donations instead of favours

Instead of giving wedding favours most guests would (let's be frank) chuck aside, charitable couples are choosing to give back through donations. To make this official to guests, include your chosen organisation's official mission and endorsement on place cards, or print them out as scrolls for everyone to take home.

Unique wedding day eats

Say goodbye to your average banquet or buffet. Weddings are now all about fun food - think tacos, pizza, doughnuts and even prata (an Indian flatbread) and ice cream stations at receptions in Singapore.
